The Mission of the Club

The mission of a Toastmasters Club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn, foster self-confidence and personal growth.

History

Our Club was born September 20, 1960, at the Jewish Center on College Avenue. It was then known as the Knights of Marian Toastmaster Club. It was the child of the eastside council of the Knights of Columbus, known then as the "Marian Council".

Originally, the club was closed with membership limited to members of the Knights of Columbus. The club soon opened its doors to everyone and was one of the first clubs to admit ladies. About 1969, the Knights of Marian Toastmasters Club combined with one of the North American Aviation Clubs and changed its named to the Whitehall Toastmasters. Much later, the name was amended to the Columbus-Whitehall Toastmasters. We are Club #3002, Area 23, Eastern Division, District 40.
