Toastmaster Leadership Institute: Come one, Come all, this years workshop theme is “Toastmasters: Bringing Out the Best in People.” It is open to ALL Toastmasters and is required for club officers. If you miss the one this Saturday, you can catch it July 27, 2002 in Cincinnati or August 3 in Dayton!  All the neat information can be found on the District 40's web page by clicking on “Officer Training.”   Here is the link to District 40's Website!!

Club Web Page:  Your Club officers are hard at work for the membership. Just  17 days into the new year, Sherm has the beginnings of our Club Website up and running. Watch the Website for continued improvement!!!

Video Taping:  One of the underlying themes of the Regional Conference was the use of technology to provide an extra educational service to club members. Many clubs are video taping presentations and meetings. Some have gone so far as to issue a tape to each club member. When each member gives a speech, they will tape it on the member's tape for their later review and use. In my limited experience, I was greatly surprised how effective an Evaluator the tape can be. Evaluations are really good but the tapes are worth a thousand words.

Mirror, Mirror, on the Wall, Am I the Best Speaker After All??  If everything works out well, we may be able to start experimental taping at the next meeting. If you are camera shy just tell either Sherm or myself. This is something new for us and we need to reach a comfort level for all members. Send your comments, Pro or Con to either of us. We don't want to panic anyone!!!!!!! It's an enhanced club service and may not be for everyone!!!!

Who's Who? Good news. With input from Edwin and Sherm I have almost competed a contact list of current Toastmaster members and phone numbers to be used by each club member when they are Toastmaster of the Day and General Evaluator. Look for it by Friday.

Next Meeting-23 July: I am Toastmaster of the Day and the current agenda is almost complete. I am short a few slots. I will send out a partial agenda tonight or Friday. I am also planning the agendas for the next three meetings, 13 August, 27 August, and 10 September. Sign up early for your speaking dates!!!! I'll send what I have by an Email soonest.

VP of Ed needs Updating: At our next meeting I will have wall charts of the progress of each member available for updating. I don't have a clear idea how many speeches each member has given. Please bring your manuals or notes and update the charts with the date and title of your speeches. I have a separate chart for CTM's and ATM's for updating which just require just a check off. As we get better for the Advanced speakers we will able to track titles and dates.

Theme Meetings:  I am open to suggestions on special themes for meetings. The only theme meeting I have on the books is the 17th of Dec-Christmas Around the World. It is a substitute for our scheduled meeting, the 24 of December. I don't think we will have much attendance on the 24th. Given the number of speeches that need to be completed, we do need to have two meetings in December and the 17th seems to be an ideal date. Who wants to be Toastmaster Santa??
