Mid-Life Crisis? Who’s about to be
42? |
|
We are!! Our Club was born September
20, 1960 at the Jewish Center on College Avenue. It was know as the
Knights of Marian Toastmaster Club. It was the child of the
eastside council of the Knights of Columbus known then as the
“Marian Council.”
Originally the club was closed with membership
limited to members of the Knights of Columbus. The club soon opened its
doors to everyone and was one of the first clubs to admit
ladies. About 1969 the
Knights of Marian Toastmasters Club combined with one of the North
American Aviation Clubs and changed its name to the Whitehall
Toastmasters. Much
later the name was amended to the Columbus-Whitehall
Toastmasters! Does
anyone know Why?
Attend the next meeting, August 13th and find
out!!
Club Business Cards:
Get them while they are hot!
Did you see the map on the reverse side of the card! Is that outstanding or
what? Be sure to send
your info to Sherm Stevens, our VP of PR. Sherm has sent Email to all
members! I have my
cards, do you?

TM3002 Club
Directory |
Last month I sent out this
year’s first Club Directory via Email! The club directory did not
contain Email addresses!!
This is because several members have Email on company
servers. In most cases,
there isn’t a problem sending or getting Email, but the addresses
can’t be published on an open Web site.
In
my Email’s I asked member permission to include their Emails in this
months update. I have
heard from only 5 members!! Until the club web site is fully up
and running, Email is critical!
If you haven’t responded,
expect a reminder Email from me in the near future.

Technical Problems |
|
As
I talked to several club members, it became clear that several
members did not have Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel on
their home computers and could not read the
attachments!!! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!
For
better or worst, Microsoft Word/Works and Excel are the
mainstay of all TM documents but never FEAR the Techkies are
here!!! We will be putting the Info Bytes on the club
web site and the site will have hot stuff that any club
member can read, update, and download.
For
the above reason, I am not able to publish the checklists
as attachments for the Toastmaster of the Day and
General Evaluator. That will be
soon.
Until
the time we can go WebCentric, I have been assured that this
Info Byte format can be read by ALL mail
programs!! Send me an Email if this is really messed up,
especially those with Lotus
Notes!! |
