MORE INFO BYTES

So Sorry, Charley & Sherm
This was to be a semi-monthly newsletter but time and events seemed to have dictated otherwise.  Sherm and I must live in what is becoming "Lightning Alley."  Needless to say this has really slowed some our publication and PR efforts.  I have had two near miss lightening strikes and Sherm has had his system wrecked by electrical problems.

I have had emergency eye surgery which has slowed my efforts even more. Please bear with us as we rebuild and recover.

New JokeMaster

Hats off to Charles Scott for his efforts as our first Jokemaster!!  The purpose of the Jokemaster in the meeting agenda is ---to tell a joke!  Now this may seem to be simple and it is and it isn't .

One of the hallmarks of many successful people is the ability to set people at ease. It is often done by by well delivered humor at the right time.  Toastmasters is about trying new things and trying them in a friendly environment.  Soooo, when you see the signup clipboard being passed around, take the TM Dare--sign up for the role of the JokeMaster.

You may find, as I did, the longer you try you hand at humor, the easier it becomes.  The hardest joke, is the first one!  From there on, it is downhill!!

AREA GOVERNOR VISIT: The Best of Two Tracks!

Changing Hats: Sergeant-at-Arms to Area Governor.
Our club members are not shy about seeking higher levels of responsibility.  While serving as our club Sergeant-at-Arms and working on her individual presentations, Mellissa Blagg is also the Toastmaster Area Governor. This is but one example of how a Toastmaster may combine both the Communication and Leadership Tracks!

  • Last meeting, Many thanks to Melissa Blagg for her presentation as our visiting Area Governor. She will be visiting other clubs over the next couple of months.
